The quality of heat treatment directly determines the inherent performance of a knife: because martensitic stainless steel can only exert its material properties after heat treatment. Therefore, heat treatment has always been the core process of knife making. Knives that use vacuum heat treatment have higher hardness, better toughness, and better long-lasting sharpness than knives that use ordinary oxidation furnace heat treatment.
